I thought if you stayed over 180 days you then had to pay income taxes in Thailand .. I’m probably wrong .. but I’m interested.. I’ve just got my DTV visa.. so would be great if I can stay longer than 6 months in a year .. I pay taxes in the uk too 🙌

Income tax implications?… as you are staying over 180 days in one year??

I’m in the same boat as you .. but saw on another forum that you have 3 months from getting the DTV to entering the country on it .. so maybe cannot apply say 6 months ahead ..

Better check that if it is true … I’m here now for 2 months on the visa free 60 days.. same in June / July when I’m back .. the I needed DTV for 4 months plus over winter next year .. so looks like I will apply when back in the UK around September time 🤷‍♂️

Suspect you will need proof of turnover / taxes/ profits etc

Or everyone would just start a business up for this reason 🤷‍♂️

Cheers everyone .. think I would probably stick to the 180 days in the year then… to avoid any issues for the next 2 or 3 years… then look at it again .. will probably have changed by then anyway ..

Thanks for the constructive advice.. much appreciated 🙌

yes mate.. that’s what I meant .. over 180 days and you become liable for taxable income in Thailand 😂😂

Surely that’s why it is a 180 day visa… any more days spent in Thailand and that’s when tax implications kick in … avoid that if possible 😂
