@Sarah ******
yes search this thread. Someone else left with an ed visa and re entry, came back and was stamped in with DTV

If you can plan in advance that far yes, when the consulate was in Toronto the processing time was 24 hours so I had assumed 3-4 weeks was enough time to process. I was wrong, DTV in record time though.

I had the same issue. They knew my flight date and told me they would issue my visa in time. On the 35th day I called them and asked if my visa will be issued as I flew in the next 48 hours. The Russian women told me word for word “not a chance” then 3 hours later it was sent to me via email.

Ottawa had been a total nightmare in the past for METV basic tourist visa. For the DTV I was approved in 6 days and asked for no further documents just submitted and then approved
Andrew *******
Ya absolutely no new or pertinent information here, as short as this visa has existed this is extremely dated info
Andrew *******
My DTV was the fastest ever approved. 6 days. Even for my last METV is took 35 days

I had a visa, my passport expired. Got a letter from my embassy + new passport. Took it to immigration, visa was transferred. I had to do that 2x once in a 1 month period because I needed a temporary passport to renew my visa in time and then when my new passport arrived I had to transfer again. Il try to find my old passport and upload a picture of it. It may very well be an extension of stay based off the visa I had, not debating that.

Thanks for being diligent and calling me out almost 24 hours later 🫡
