With the internet now as it is the chances are my family will find out by my friends or partner contacting them online.

But it can’t be a bad idea to inform them.

My emergency contact is in my passport, and the local hospitals have my files already with my details.

With friends that have passed here their family was normally informed by a friend first.

But yeah you never know what the situation will be so why not.

it was super easy for me, I just filed out the form and it came in the post. My boyfriend (French) had to fly up to bkk for his.

Uk don’t issue at the embassy. They only give you an emergency one there. French do yes but Uk no 🙂

For being overseas and needing a new passport, it takes up to 3 weeks. Super easy, fill out everything online and a new one comes in the post.

Well mine was posted to me, it’s how they do it now. Years ago I got one issued in the embassy.
