did you also obtain the QR code for immigration? Or could you just register it? If the latter, do they tell when you obtain the QR code? Or were there no feed back messages.
no! With a Thai passport you are a Thai citizen. But you might well be a resident in another country.
The same holds for immigrants in Thailand. Their country of residence can be Thailand but they are citizens somewhere else. Why is this so difficult to understand? 😉
thanks a lot, great answers. I know that pensions are included for Sweden. So I should be good. I will follow your advice and check more carefully. But I will start in Sweden, since the treaty will be well known by the tax experts there. And those I will find easily.
could you please explain a little better. In what sense are "most pensioners ok"? Should we declare, and pay tax here, on pension earned in and brought over from our country? Or should we not?
before the present rule we could get a 60 days tourist visum from Thai embassys vis mail. No sent passports, no personal visits. I think they took a fee. I did this when I returned after covid and it was an improved, simple process. I guess they will go back to that procedure.
I would use a VPN and try! I would not be surprised if it didn't work. You must fulfill the requierements of course. But a flight ticket is easy to show. Make sure the date fits though!
there a plenty of reliable agents that do a good job. Some more expensive than others. I have done both with and without agents and they take the insecurity and stress away well. I agree that the paperwork is often extensive and difficult to do correctly by yourself. Follow your instinct. If you use an agent look here for advice to good agents where you reside.
