It depends on the train you get on. If it's a newer train then it normally has wifi but the old ones don't. From memory our train Bangkok to Chiang Mai at 8:30pmish did not have wifi but a new train that left at 6:15pmish had wifi.

No we're not covered for hotel stays but if they let us stay in the hotel we would be happy to cover that ourselves (already paid for 8 days in one hotel). Asymptomatic hospital stay only covered with AXA which we bought after thai pass approval
