yes but that's expensive and annoying if you have to redo quarantine and PCR testing and all the other problems getting back to Thailand

of course there's no need but it creates less stress and pressure to get everything done in one month as well as finding somewhere to live more permanently, opening a bank account, getting licenses, meeting people and being normal.

Come to Thailand with a tourist visa.

Open a bank account.

Put 800k in a bank account and never touch it.

Go to immigration before your visa ends, extend it 30 days and at the same time change the visa type to get a retirement visa.
