OK I have no personal experience with your issue but if you do not have time to get your visa updated and you are questioned by an IO I would just point to the passport page and say that the embassy or consulate made a mistake on the visa.

Sean could you clarify whether the gender mistake is on a visa in your passport or whether it is on the official picture page in your passport?

@Michelle ******
Mostly true Michelle. With a METV you typically loose a little on the front end because the clock starts the day it is issued but if you plan your border bounces correctly I think you can get more than 180 days. In such a situation I am sure an IO would not complain. I do think I have read at least one report of an IO using 180 days as a reason to deny in a different situation. If I am correct this is something you should be aware of but hopefully never run into. Tod is the guru and I am hoping he can confirm whether this was an IO making something up to keep someone out who had stayed too long or whether it is an actual rule. In any case good luck!

Tod I thought I saw as somewhere that some IO at least consider you to be living in Thailand if you spend more than 180 days in a calender year. If true that might be a problem for this poster?

I understand your comments. I will not say your comments about a mini van service are wrong but there are also disadvantages to the bus as well. I think it is a personal choice. The OP asked about a mini bus service so I pointed that out first but also mentioned the bus service option.

@Aaron *******
There is a mini bus service I have used once that can be found at

Many people choose the less expensive alternative of the Green bus.

OK there are not that many farang in Ubon which means that landlords will not be obtained top of things but also that immigration should not be too busy for good service.

@Philip ********
Depending on your landlord they may be able to do it online for you. The TM30 register process is actually the responsibility of landlords although if anyone gets fined it will be you.

@Philip ********
Yes to be legal you need a new TM30 because of the change in TM6 number as Robert has explained. If you have no need to go to immigration it will not be a problem but if you need to go there you will be fined if your TM30 is not currently.
