TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is in Chiang Mai on a 6-month Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) and plans to do a border run at Mae Sai when their 60-day period expires. They are asking whether they need to notify the Chiang Mai Immigration office upon their return or if they can remain silent. Responses suggest that it might not be necessary to notify Immigration, but it's advisable to check if your accommodation handles the notification or if it needs to be done personally for a new date stamp and TM 6 departure card.

If you never need to go to immigration for anything I don't think it matters. But ask where you are staying, my condo does it online for me, I just give them my passport when I come back and they copy it and do it, takes 2 minutes.

I am going to ask my condo about that - thanks for the tip.

Just a quick question do you plan on staying longer than 6 months?

Chang Mai want you to come and update your notification of stay with a new date stamp and TM 6 departure card number.

OK there are not that many farang in Ubon which means that landlords will not be obtained top of things but also that immigration should not be too busy for good service.

had to do myself ! Landlord useless . Thankfully Immigration in Ubon very helpful

Depending on your landlord they may be able to do it online for you. The TM30 register process is actually the responsibility of landlords although if anyone gets fined it will be you.

Makes sense but My receipt does not even have my TM6 number on it possibly in computer if they check ! I may risk the fine

1600 baht just to see what happens . A pain to go in every 60 days after border bump .

Yes to be legal you need a new TM30 because of the change in TM6 number as Robert has explained. If you have no need to go to immigration it will not be a problem but if you need to go there you will be fined if your TM30 is not currently.

Are you saying need to do updatedTM30 after a simply border bump !

I just keep silent. I have no intention of going to immigration for extensions.. Therefore I do not see the need to check-in.. Probably I am breaking some rules. But I think I will be ok. ( I am in Pattaya btw)

@Ron ******
yeah -- i needed to get a new passport - I went to the BKK office for extension (not Chonburi) because there are not enough blank pages to bounce, and not enough time get new passport.
