I haven't had a problem, but others have. Note, no matter how long she says she will stay in the UK, the visa is always for 6 months. Do you know what travel history she has had before. Does she own property. Does she have 100,000 in the bank. Does she have children or elderly parents. Who is paying her expenses to and in the UK?

While that might (or might not) address medical concerns, it doesn't change medical history one iota. High blood pressure can lead to irreversible damage, and so it's often treated as a life long chronic illness, in that you will always be prone to high blood pressure requiring medication or an unusual change in diet.

Upto 3 days before arrival. You can complete it when you arrive in Bangkok before immigration, or while waiting to board your flight.

My wife has had 2 UK visitor visas so far. She has a massage shop that makes no money, doesn't have a house, parents are dead, grown up daughter, 6 cats, a motorbike and she spent 2 months in a Malaysian hell hole prison. I supply a 1 a4ź letter of invitation, which isn't a blow by blow account of a relationship like some of the frankly pathetic begging letters from so called company directors and the like that I have seen: keep to the facts. She does make sure she has 100,000 in her bank account a few weeks before and that her shop is properly registered as a business. We do use an agent to cross the ts and dot the i's.

That doesn't reverse the complications of diabetes. Eg neuropathy, retinopathy. Also, there is genuine division in medicine whether Roy Taylors approach actually gets rid of diabetes or merely puts it in remission. Ie you still have T2D but you no longer need medicine to treat it. The approach is that trials show if you are on less than 800kcal a day for 12 weeks, which is starvation diet, more than 50% of cases put the diabetes into touch.. it also means that ni nearly 50% of cases, they still have diabetes. Don't pedal false hope. Insurance will still nor cover consequences of diabetes and you have to declare past diagnoses.

I was answering you. Specifically your comment "I imagine if I was using it in Thailand it would be valid for 3 years". The IDP is not valid for 3 years in Thailand. How long a foreign driving licence is recognised in a country varies. A foreign driving licence is good for 90 days in Thailand, then you need a Thai licence. Its irrelevant how long the date is on the IDP. If I was in Australia, I'd need to get a Aussie licence after 3 months. In the UK, Aussies get 12 months, which is a bit strange. Living in the US, I got 6 months out of my GB licence.

Nope. You can't drive for 3 years on a foreign diving licence anywhere. If you are actually living in a country, you need to get a national licence.

How long a IDP is valid for depends on which IDP, which country you are using it in and your own national driving licence. If your own licence expires or is canceled, your IDP had no validity. For the UK, that includes the photocard, do it dies with the photocard. 1949 IDP has 1 year on it. Thailand moved to 1968 IDP which is 3 years or whenever your own licence expires, which ever comes first. There is also a 1926 IDP which you need for Brazil. Thailand and Vietnam are both 1968 IDP but Cambodia and Laos are 1949 IDP. So travelling in all 4 needs 2 idps. It's an abuse to misuse multiple IDPs to "extend" driving in a country. The clock starts when you arrive nit when you start driving.

Why can't you get a IDP with your home country driving licence, when you go home, since you are a tourist?
