Hi to one and all, I shall try to briefly explain my situation. I am totally blind and I’m travelling to Bangkok on the eighth and arriving in Bangkok on the ninth from Manchester and changing at Amsterdam on the way . The issue that I’m having is that the website is not very accessible I’ve tried using a mobile phone and laptop because I use a screen reader which allows me to know what is on the screen however, the drop-down menus are not being displayed or spoken and when I have to search for certain things such as the different categories that are listed it doesn’t let me activate anything. so to give you a scenario, if I’m trying to choose my preferred accommodation to where I will stay I can jump into the search box but then it won’t actually find the results. What is people’s suggestions? Should I just arrive at the airport and see if the airline can help me with it or just hope the best. I do understand that I have to fill this form in online 72 hours before I leave. Thanks a lot

TLDR : Answer Summary
A visually impaired traveler from Manchester is seeking advice on how to navigate the online forms and accommodations for their upcoming trip to Bangkok. They are struggling with accessibility issues on websites and are uncertain if they should rely on help at the airport or try to resolve the issue beforehand. Multiple comments suggest that assistance can be booked in advance with the airline, as staff can help at both check-in and upon arrival in Bangkok. Others recommend filling the digital form at the airport or utilizing kiosks for assistance. Concerns about navigating Bangkok as a blind person are also raised, although several comments note positive experiences with helpful locals.

As commented upon already but your Form filling will not respond properly if attempting to fill in before 72 hours . Anyway, book assistance at airport. Best result I reckon . Good luck .

You misunderstand. You fill in the form from 72 hours. You can fill it out in Bangkok. That's why they provide kiosks. You can probably get help at check in.

I just saw a blind Thai woman on the BTS last week. She seemed to be getting about on her own OK, the security guards helped her into the train and I helped her locate the grab pole to steddy herself. Security guards in Bangkok are everywhere and they are very helpful, unfortunately few speak English.

Sorry I could not answer your question but I wish you the best experience in Thailand.

my wife and I are blind and we seem to manage quite well and people are very helpful so that makes a big difference. I do agree that there are places which are not as good for example when crossing roads and sometimes you can get your cane caught in the holes where the gutters are and drains but overall my experiences are pretty positive and such lovely nice people

I don't think Thailand is a very good place if you're blind, uneven sidewalk traffic going every which way I would make a pass

whilst I agree with your sentiments, I’ve been there three times already and my wife lives there so I haven’t really got much choice until she comes over over to the UK eventually.

people saying go to desk in airport . Fools. You do it before you fly or speak to the cabin crew they will arrange a person to meet and great you they will probably even put on a golf buggy. Explain your concerns before you fly . Id even have something on phone or paper in thai explaining what you need saves hassle. The comme ts on here and the attitude somepwople give is awful. Be helpful to everyone guys .

What if worse comes to the worst, I’ll just have to ask and see if anyone is around to help me fill it in as my flight is at 1:45 in the afternoon on Thursday so I guess technically I need to get it done 72 hours before so preferably before quarter to 2 today

you can only fill in the form from 72 hours before arriving and can do it when you arrive in Bangkok. Not 72 hours before arriving

I think you are referring to the new digital arrival form. You can fill in at the airport on arrival. I am certain someone from the airline or immigration will be able to assist you to complete it.

i’m surprised why I didn’t think about that myself but yes I use the assistance and I go from England to Bangkok every year and I’ve always booked the assistance when I get to the airport and the fast track system works very well and people are always helpful so I’ll try that and hopefully somebody will help me at the airport to fill it in. I don’t want to give the impression that I don’t know how to use technology but this one has really wound me up with the website 😅 thank you very much.

No worries, i read that the airport have lots of computer terminals available for arrivals that need to complete the form before proceeding through immigration. Safe travels.

At the airport it will be too late. Maybe call the nearest Thai consulate asking if they can help, or a friend, neighbor, concierge or travel agent
