I have a question about Tax with DTV but because it’s new then maybe we will not find the answer.
Some people are saying that the DTV visa is a tourist visa where you can stay 6 month in Thailand but because it’s a tourist visa it’s not made to pay tax in Thailand.
Others are saying that you can do a border run and stay more then 6 month in Thailand and then you can go to the tax office the year after and declare your the revenu that you bring into Thailand before the 1st of March to be Thai tax resident.
So my question is : If you are expat from your country, can you declare what you bring into Thailand and pay your tax on it in Thailand with a DTV visa ?
Is it possible to apply for DTV as a YouTuber? Since I've already quit my regular job, I'd like to know if it's possible to apply if I'm earning income only as a content creator on platforms like YouTube and Facebook.
After my father’s passing, my 56-year-old mother wants to move to Thailand to be closer to me. I’m currently living in Thailand on a DTV visa, but she doesn’t have the 800,000 baht required for the retirement visa. Our French embassy still issues income declarations, but they’re solely based on honor without any verification.
If she comes to Thailand without a visa, can we use the French embassy’s income declaration for her initial O visa application? By the end of the first year, she will have the 12 monthly payments of 65,000 baht required for renewal.

Hello. I'm working at a school in BKK and have a work permit, and the tax id. I'd like to do part-time remote work as a freelancer (non-teaching) and get paid to my thai bank account from clients overseas. Would it be fine? I'd like to do it legally, I'm willing to declare my income and pay tax. Can you suggest the way to do it? Normally, one would need to open a company and sponsor his work permit. But I do have a wp and don't think you can possess two. Any ideas appreciated. Thank you.
Hello all, I’m asking for some info for my girlfriend who is Thai. She’s a tennis coach already working for a coaching academy but she’s into training also, she wishes to start a ‘beach boot camp’; functional strength and conditioning training in a group environment on the beach.
This would ofcourse be an independent endeavour and she wouldn’t have the comforts of being employed by a company, we’re wondering what needs to be done with regards to declaring the income made and also potential permits required to deliver these sessions on the beach.
I understand this is quite a nuanced question but any help would be appreciated🙏

I'm moving from Nonthaburi to Don Muang soon. I suppose CW is gonna be my new Immigration office. Does anyone know if CW still accepts an affidavit of income from my (Belgian) embassy?
May I request the attention of the Oracles in this ass saving group, please?
Australian passport
Admitted on Non-Immigrant O A multiple entry Visa one year based upon Retirement. Arrived Swampy 4 September 2017.
Extended one year to August 6, 2019
(Special thanks to Steve Grier)
Given proposed cessation of Income Stat Decs by Australian Embassy in January 2019 I'm wondering if my current thinking is plausible....
My thinking... December 31, 2018
Leave Thailand by 6August 2019
Return to Australia
Apply for new Non-Immigrant O A Visa based upon retirement. Using Government Military Pension which is well in excess of 65 000 THB per month. Very verifiable.
I do not want to tie up 800000thb in a Thai Bank.
This is how I qualified for my original Non-Immigrant O A Retirement Visa.
Assuming approval this would allow me another up to two years in Thailand if used correctly.
This would take me to Age 76 by which time I may hang up my spurs and go home.... or not!
Thoughts, please...?
Why am I raising this now....? Simply because I am an Anal Retentive.

And yes I know rules change so I acknowledge any replies can only be based upon current rules and not speculation. Thank you All.

Reason for not wanting funds in Thai bank account... I do have one
Is twice before I was victim of Government policy which cost me... once in Iran once in Greece so very wary of Government decisions. Especially here.
Just clarification... is there any reason the Thai Embassy in Australia would not allow back to back Non Immigrant O A multiple entry Long Stay based upon Retirement? If I went that route?
