Yes that is what a stat dec is but I'm more interested in what "proof" is required to be produced to the embassy. Is it like the residence stat dec (take your word for it) or are bank statements from home required etc.
Sorry I haven't, but I'm also interested to know. I have heard that the stat dec is in itself proof, as this is a legal document (in Australia), and so all things being equal, if you are declaring it so, it is so...
