ORIGINAL POSTER
Morning. I'm on OA Visa. Stamped in until 24th December 2020. Does an extension application have to be approved by this date or do I submit the application before this date? Just trying to work out when monies need to be in my account. TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you hold an OA Visa that expires on December 24, 2020, you need to submit your extension application before that date. Most immigration offices allow you to apply for an extension 30 to 45 days prior to the expiration. The extension must be approved on or before your current visa's expiration date to avoid any lapse in legal status.

Your new extension has to be approved on or before your current "until" date. you can submit an application between 30 - 45days before to that date (how many days depends on immigration office)

You apple before this stay runs out,

Some offices give you a period of 45 days other 30 days, to apply, Go early just in case you missed a document, the Extension will be added to your current last date, so you do not loose days by going early
