TLDR : Answer Summary
Marc is inquiring about the possibility of his son, who will overstay his 60-day visa by four days, obtaining a 30-day extension at any immigration office in Bangkok. The discussion confirms that this can be done, specifically at IT Square Laksi Plaza if he is on a visa-exempt entry (60-day stamp) rather than a tourist visa acquired from a consulate. Several responses mention the required documentation including TM30, passport copies, and a fee of 1,900 Baht. The conversation also clarifies the difference between immigration offices depending on the type of visa.

And this post is exactly why correct terminology is so critical. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ™

I highly doubt the O/P's son is here on a "tourist visa" <- that they bought from a thai consulate in their country before they flew in. ๐Ÿ˜•

It is far more likely that they showed up here without any visa and were stamped in free stamp for 60 days on the visa exempt entry program

If indeed they are on a 60 day free stamp entry they do go to IT Square Laksi Plaza to get their 30 day extension for 1900baht.

BUT

as John Stanners correctly pointed out if they are indeed on a real tourist visa they do NOT go to IT Square and instead go to the main immigration office at Chaengwattana government complex building b..

This is where IT Square is located

You are right. He has a 60 day free visa he got on arrival. So he has to go to IT square Laksi plaza.

I am confused because the adress is at Chaengwattana when I enter IT square in Google maps.

@Marc **********
it's not a Visa. It's "visa exempt entry".

He does not have a Visa, he has a Visa Exempt stamp

Chaengwattana is a ROAD ๐Ÿ˜› and IT Square is indeed on that road too ๐Ÿ™‚ ,

the main immigration office is also on that road but down further at the government complex Building B <- you don't want that ๐Ÿ™‚

If he has an actual visa he needs to go to Chaengwattana, if visa exempt he goes to Laksi

If he leaves on the 7th

And doesnโ€™t want to get a 30 day extension he can pay the fine at the airport when he leaves ?
Graham ******
@Ant **********
That's a big IF
Lloyd ********
You have filed a TM30 for him?

> Yes, You'll need TM30 + Copy of his passport (Face and last Stamp) 3 Forms to fill out which are provided on the wall (4ร—6) Photo that YOU must attach to one of the forms Extension Fee 1,900 Baht (Cash) Only
Lloyd ********
@Marc **********
Yes, go tomorrow, get the extension, then no overstay :-)
Lloyd ********
OK, so he would like a 30 day extension, yet he will have overstayed. If you are lucky he will pay the fine and get the extension, however, they could just tell him to leave the country. he could have applied for the extension up to 30 days before (depending on office), so he did have plenty of time to do it.
