Hi All - I'm wondering, for one day past a permission to stay (expired METV + 30 day extension), will immigration put an Overstay stamp in my passport? I'm stamped good until March 4, but would like to take a flight out on March 5, if possible.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The general consensus among commenters suggests that a one-day overstay in Thailand, especially when flying out, may not result in a fine or an Overstay stamp in your passport. It seems that Suvarnabhumi Airport may be lenient with such instances, with some suggesting that under 24 hours of overstay can be overlooked, while others note that it might still be documented on a stamp. However, it's advisable to check specific policies as they may vary by location and situation.

But will the stamp make any problems later, if it happens only this one time?

you not be fined for a single day overstay when flying out but would get this stamp in your passport when you stamp out.

I think that only at Suvarnabhumi Airport one day of overstay is admitted and they don't charge 500 baht of penalty, but I also think that they mention the overstay day on the stamp

I had a similar challenge, and the officer at Immigration said that less than 24 hours overstay is no problem, no penalty.
