# My DTV Workation Visa Approval Experience (Hanoi)
Posting this because I couldn’t find much information about applying with a Thai bank account and already living long-term in Thailand.
## 👤 Background
* Living in Thailand for 9 years
* Previously on a BOI visa
* No overstay history
* Never had a tourist visa
Since I’m no longer working for my previous Thai company, I applied for the DTV Workation Visa. I’m employed by a German company and work fully remote.
## 📄 Documents Submitted
(All documents merged into one PDF per category)
1. Vietnam Proof:
* Hotel booking
* Hotel receipt
* Picture of me holding my passport in front of the hotel sign (address clearly visible)
* Entry stamp into Vietnam
* Boarding pass to Vietnam (placed next to my passport)
* Flight ticket back to Chiang Mai
* Rental contract for my house in Chiang Mai
(My wife owns the house, so she made a rental contract for me. We also added the Tabien Baan and a copy of her Thai ID card.
2. Employment Proof:
* Employment contract (English, stating remote work allowed)
* Additional signed letter confirming remote work from Thailand
* Company registration extract (German + English)
3. Financial Proof:

No foreign bank account used.

## ⚠️ Passport Place of Issue — Very Important
My German passport was issued at the German Embassy in Bangkok. In the passport it says: “Botschaft Bangkok”
That is exactly what I entered in the application - I wrote it in german "Botschaft Bangkok".
Enter exactly what is written in your passport.
## ✈️ Address Section
First address:
→ Your current address while applying (for me: Hotel in Hanoi).
“Is this also your permanent address?”
→ I selected NO.
Then I entered my address in Thailand - exactly as its written in my rental contract.
## 💡 Notes
* No agent used
* No cover letter
* No table of contents
* All PDFs clean and clearly structured
* Double-checked everything before submitting
Overall, the process in Hanoi was smooth and professional in my case.
My question is the following. I now have a job in Netherlands. This is a job i can do from home with my laptop. I have spoken with my boss and if I want i can move to Thailand and work from there. I would still get my salary on my bank-account. The only thing i need is actually rent a home there with internet and I am good to go. I want to stay at least for 1 year. What type of visa do i need? Do i need to make visa runs?
