I’ve just been rejected and I’m honestly confused.
I submitted everything they asked for in Hanoi, including a final document on the 21st to prove I own my bank account. I’ve heard nothing since until 7pm last night—with a rejection and no explanation at all.
Has anyone managed to get a reason or successfully resubmit through email? I know they say it’s not possible, but it seems bizarre they rejected it after I provided everything.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user reported confusion after their visa application was rejected by the embassy in Hanoi, despite submitting all requested documentation. Comments from the community suggest that rejections often lack clear explanations. Many users shared experiences of previous rejections due to minor documentation issues and recommended reapplying, possibly with better prepared submissions. The importance of having complete documentation, such as six months of bank statements, was emphasized, alongside concerns about the embassy's review process and transparency.
They hardly give reason. They want the money and they want you to re apply again. It’s not for safety and concerns or any other nonsense. They canceled my application because my middle name wasn’t on every piece of documentation and all they said…. No middle name.
I got rejected even though they ask me to clarify bank statement to have the correct format. After 1 week after providing they rejected me with no reason as well lol. I was like, then why did you ask for more documents which weren’t that crucial
Hanoi does not answer through email. Without knowing more context it will be difficult to help you. Please let us know what documents you sent them at first. What was required and the sequence of events. Pending document check-pending application approval etc 🙏
So different people at the embassy review and approve the visas. The first review is to ensure all your paperwork is there. Whoever did this review saw that you sent screenshots and asked for pdf copies. This does not mean that your other documents were reviewed and “approved” or agreed to. Once you sent the pdf versions, your application was probably handed off to someone to formally review. At that stage, for some reason, it was rejected
It's a weird way to treat applicants, without mentioning what's wrong. Would it be so difficult to just outline the main rejection reason briefly but just specify that you only get a brief explanation and no back and forth about it. Seems super odd not to mention anything??
Apply again , cover letter explaining your situations and everything you think they should believe you come here train Muay Thai and you can support yourself during your stay in Thailand. One of our French customer was rejected and reapplied and get approved. There might be some mistakes on your application. Try again & Good luck
Without details on your submission no one can give you any real help. So, please lay out everything you submitted, course details and provider, bank balance, account type details, statement length. Rejections are typically insufficient documents.
Complicated reasons could be but very likely of hidden ones which were not your fault and out of your control.
For re-apply, do it in another country; Submit your bank statements at the beginning, not by request later; re-check if your Muay Thai school is commonly alright among other applicants’ cases.
Did you apply for the Workcation option? You can not resubmit via email. Normally for minor mistakes like name they usually give a reason. Do you know why they asked for proof of ownership of your bank account?
Soft power … I’m not even someone abusing the system either, I actually train Muay Thai and fight. I was asked to show proof of my savings account because my original document was just a screenshot, so I sent the full bank statement straight after, exactly as they asked.
That’s what’s so confusing — if they were asking for that final proof, it must’ve meant everything else was fine? Then suddenly it was rejected, with no reason. Just feels odd?
Anonymous participant this is likely the reason barring any other insufficient documents. Minimum 6 month course is recommended. You say "the site said", what site? Which gym and what is their DTV approval success rate?
He has mentioned he was the first to apply for the DTV that is a red flag of sorts. As you alluded to, applying with a gym with a track record of approvals is key
