TLDR : Answer Summary
For a marriage extension visa in Thailand, the bank statement requirements can vary. Several users suggest that a 12-month bank statement is typically required, while others mention that a 6-month statement may suffice along with proof of having 400,000 baht for at least 2 months before the extension application. Specifically, at Changwattana in Bangkok, a 2-month statement alongside a letter from the bank and an updated bank book is often accepted for the extension process. If you're using the monthly income method, a 12-month statement is generally needed to show a minimum withdrawal of 40,000 baht per month.

I got my 1 year retirement visa extension and with 800,000 baht was told I can't spend below 800,000 for three months. The money has been my account for 2 months prior to extension. Confused!

At changwattana in bkk it's 2 month statement(starting prior to application date), letter from Bank and updated bankbook. Has been for me the last 5 years. It's 12 months if you are using 40 k a month instead of 400 k lump sum.

6 months statement and the document confirming that you have 400,000 baht in the account for 2 months before the extension

IB me if you need help with paperworks

. Wrong. Statement of 2 months is enough because balance before then is irrelevant for a spouse extension if using 400k. After your extension is approved and stamped in, your balance can be ZERO until 2 months prior to your next extension.

. They will accept 12 months statement anyway because it's at least 2 months. They'll ignore the other months because they don't matter. I gave them 12 months once and 6 months once and they handed me back the earlier pages saying don't need them. Officers there are famous for adjusting the rules depending on their mood. Officially 12 months is only needed if using 40k a month because it's how you prove 40k a month.
