Has anyone else been asked for a bank statement covering more than a year? You know how hard it is to get one from Thai banks for more than years especially you are outside of Thailand! Any suggestions?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about being asked for a bank statement covering more than a year for a Thai visa, which is particularly challenging to obtain from Thai banks while living abroad. Community responses suggest that historical bank statements can only be acquired in person with a fee, and there may be a misunderstanding regarding the required timeline. Others confirm that immigration often allows statements from one year but some embassies are requesting longer periods. Ultimately, the user finds success in getting their visa approved.

Are you applying for the DTV Visa based on Workcation, DIGITAL NOMAD?

What is your passport nation?

Did you have a work permit and was employed in Thailand in 2024?

What's the source of the deposits into the Bank account you submitted to the Thai Embassy?

For some reason they're seeking added MONTHS of bank account statements...in 2024 and 2025.

Yes, I’m applying for the DTV Visa under the Workcation / Digital Nomad category.

My passport nationality is Myanmar.

I did not have a work permit or employment in Thailand in 2024.

The deposits in my bank account are from my freelance software development work for overseas clients, mostly from the US. I have already combined my old account statements together and submitted them, but they have requested additional documents such as company registration and other supporting materials

Anonymous participant so you were working inside Thailand during that period (albeit remotely) or elsewhere? Perhaps that is the problem?

The only way to get historical bank statements from a Thai bank is to apply at your own bank branch and pay a fee. They order it from the head office and takes about 4-5 days. If you're out of the country, forget it!

I'd ask them if it's a typo july-july and remind them that typically a year statement is about the best that a bank can produce

Even Chiang Mai Immigration recognises that and said the bank book copies were OK.

Sounds like they're wanting to see your financial history in Thailand, not heard of this before. I wonder if its just a typo and the mean January 2025?

Yes, difficult to get over a year from a Thai bank. Immigration in country recently let me off with just a years statement recently but I should have had 15 months.
