I did put things to gather in a very organized used way and met each of their requirements. With a nice cover letter explaining my situation and my purpose for coming to Thailand (workcation - no additional business ties and not working in Thailand for a Thai company etc)
I was a bit confused about whether to apply as business owner or employee since I am employee of a corporation that I own.
The employee route is the way to go in this case.
I just signed my own letter saying I am permitted to work overseas. Beyond this they also want articles of incorporation and an explanation of the business (I went a bit overboard here and gave them some screenshots of my e-commerce store front and business bank statement showing money coming in)
For personal financial proof I provided my bank account and it showed my salary being deposited each month from my business.
Drivers license worked as proof of address.
Just communicate with them before you apply about questions and they will clarify them for you. (Canadian embassy people seem pretty nice)
Does anyone have an official source confirming that the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok no longer issues income verification letters for visas in Thailand? If you have recent information or personal experience on this, please share!
A Canadian friend just shared this notice that Canada will stop issuing income letters on 1 April. Fortunately he renewed his non-O visa just recently but will have to figure a new method for next year.
Anyone approved in Vancouver Canada embassey (or other Canadian embassey) showing recent bank statements for proof of funds? Would like to apply as soon as possible but I will need to transfer funds to my account before I can apply and not sure if I should wait for the funds to stay in my account for a month - 6 months before applying. Is there also a way to find out if I contacted the embassey? Would hate to get rejected and lose $650 cad. Thank you in advance!
Requesting help with what "authenticated" means for a Thai embassy. There are multiple types of stamps possible from Canadian embassy.
I'm going to be in Malaysia and thinking of applying for DTV visa in Kuala Lumpur as self-employed. On the embassy website page -- [members only] -- they list under requirements that documents must be "authenticated by the embassy of the country where the company is located."
I am Canadian and our embassy offers multiple authentication / certification / notarial services. Does anyone have experience with what the Malaysian embassy might require for "authentication"? I don't have an employment contract, but I have business registration and contracts with clients.
I have it narrowed down to a retirement visa for Thailand , yes over 50 , not interested in putting 800 K in my Thai bank account , I understand you can show bank statements in my account in Canada ? It will be much appreciated for all information on the retirement visa you can give me .
Any Canadians here who got the LTR Visa? Wondering if I should opt for picking up the LTR visa in Ottawa or Bangkok🤔
When you choose the Bangkok pickup option, it looks like they ask for a lot more information vs Ottawa, you just pick up the visa. I'm thinking of going for the Ottawa pick up since it's not too far from me and just so I can get it out of the way asap.
Would love to hear anyone else's experience actually picking up the visa. Thanks! 🙏
Recently I went to the Nakhonratchasima immigration office to get a an extension to my O family class visa. When I presented a photocopy of my marriage certificate from Canada ( BC ) I was told it had to be translated to Thai and certified and legalized. The wording on the form is “ ( In case, Document from other country must have translation to English or Thai Certify by your Embassy in Thailand and
Legalization fromThai Consulate.)”
Previously a photocopy was good enough.
I haven’t a clue how to go about this or exactly what it means.
Any suggestions ?
I will be phoning the Canadian embassy first thing Monday morning.
