I applied for a 60 Day Tourist Visa on December 19, 2022 through the Ottawa, Canada Thai Embassy and received approval on January 16, 2023. There were a few holidays in that time period and they wanted one piece of documentation updated, but on the whole it was an easy process and took 4 weeks. If I didn't need the one document updated it would have been 3 weeks. I opted for this route as it was less money and easier than coming in on a 45 day exempt and then extending it at an immigration office in Thailand. Looking forward to my stay in Phuket coming up very soon.

Yup mine took 4 weeks and didn't get it on time, had to go exempt. Used to be 48 hr turnaround. So much for e-visa.

That's insane... One month for just a little tourist visa.

Used to get a 2-3 day walk-in turnaround for an O-A visa at the Ottawa Embassy. Been doing this for years. Now with evisa up to 15 business days. Had all my docs as usual but had some questions and I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone, voice mailbox full etc. Couldn't reach Vancouver Consulate office either. Not impressed.

- that would never be an option since I live in the GTA and would not drive 4 hours to do a walk in. If you plan ahead its not a problem.

That's actually pretty long compared to some embassies (London is 2-3 days) but luckily you planned ahead and gave yourself plenty of time. Enjoy your trip!

Yes we saw that they indicated up to 20 business days and we had quite a few days off with the Xmas holidays so we figured it would take the full time. It came 2 weeks before we needed to leave so all good. Looking forward to immersing in the Thai culture, food, beaches and nightlife.
