TLDR : Answer Summary
Experiences applying for the DTV Visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Ottawa vary, with some users reporting quick approvals within a week, while others faced challenges in the past, particularly with the METV tourist visa. One user shared a positive experience of approval in just 6 days without additional document requests, contrasting with others who described prior applications as nightmare scenarios.

Ottawa was all right this year METV in just 7 days. Last year was a bit difficult in 35 days.

I had the same issue. They knew my flight date and told me they would issue my visa in time. On the 35th day I called them and asked if my visa will be issued as I flew in the next 48 hours. The Russian women told me word for word “not a chance” then 3 hours later it was sent to me via email.

for next will consider it, with dentist work needed.

Much cheaper for 5 years than paying the $325 for METV and all the extentions for 6months stay

yes a huge savings.

If you can plan in advance that far yes, when the consulate was in Toronto the processing time was 24 hours so I had assumed 3-4 weeks was enough time to process. I was wrong, DTV in record time though.

I supported my friend applying there. It was a nightmare.

Ottawa had been a total nightmare in the past for METV basic tourist visa. For the DTV I was approved in 6 days and asked for no further documents just submitted and then approved
