How can I successfully obtain a DTV visa for a workcation in Thailand from Canada?

Approved DTV in 3 days - workcation from Canada

No additional questions. Let me share some tips:

I did put things to gather in a very organized used way and met each of their requirements. With a nice cover letter explaining my situation and my purpose for coming to Thailand (workcation - no additional business ties and not working in Thailand for a Thai company etc)

I was a bit confused about whether to apply as business owner or employee since I am employee of a corporation that I own.

The employee route is the way to go in this case.

I just signed my own letter saying I am permitted to work overseas. Beyond this they also want articles of incorporation and an explanation of the business (I went a bit overboard here and gave them some screenshots of my e-commerce store front and business bank statement showing money coming in)

For personal financial proof I provided my bank account and it showed my salary being deposited each month from my business.

Drivers license worked as proof of address.

Just communicate with them before you apply about questions and they will clarify them for you. (Canadian embassy people seem pretty nice)

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

Which Embassy or Consulate was it in Canada?

ottawa and yet in canada but i did it all online sitting in toronto and they didn't really ask for any proof of residence other than my drivers licence.

my partner who is a digital nomad and works remotely as well had her request rejected as she was in canada as a vistor (visa free) she fully qualifies otherwise.

so i think the canadian embassy is a good option perhaps if you are a canadian citizen or premenent resident but not if you are just here on a visitor visa

Anonymous participant what do you suggest if im a citizen, but non resident(im a UAE res), currently in toronto?

Anonymous participant Yes, many countrie you can only apply if you are a citizen or hold a long term visa. The exceptions seem to be the countries close to Thailand such as Vietnam and Laos etc
