Are there penalties for going to Immigration after the "under consideration" stamp date for a 60-day visa extension in Thailand?

For 60-day extensions on visa exempts, do you know if there are penalties if you go to Immigration after your "under consideration" stamp date? I go to Temporary Visa Extension Center at Muang Thong Thani in Pak Kret, Bangkok. Applied for extension 08/1, stamp says to go back 22/1, but I now cannot go back until 25/1 (after weekend). TIA!
