Just an update to anyone wanting to get a tourist visa from Vientiane which I got recently
1st- booked an appointment on their website which was pretty straight forward, you only need an email address and a date with free slots( make sure you print or screenshot the confirmation letter of the appointment which is sent to your email and be careful that any cancellation or no shows to the appointment will result in a temporary ban from booking again an appointment) Also take note at the bottom of your booking confirmation email there will be your que number which tells you what time is your appointment ( mine was que 80 11am -12 pm)
2nd- I headed to Vientiane through friendship bridge at nong Khai which was pretty simple ( bridge and visa on arrivals open 6 am-10 pm)
3rd- Went to the Thai Embassy around 30 min before my qué time and to my surprise the embassy was almost empty so I decided to enter earlier than my que time and i was allowed entry easily
4th - When in, same process as before, just qué up based on where you are seated, submit your documents and that's all
5th- I submitted my documents( documents needed can be found on their website)with no issues, some people where turned away due to either not having hotel bookings, departure flights or their hotel booking/flight where not in sync with their duration of stay in Thailand aka they didn't show proof of accommodation or departure during the entire course of their wanted stay allowed by the visa so just be prepared properly
6th- Took 3 working days to get back the visa between 1:30-4:30, was pretty straight forward just remember to always have your booking confirmation printed or screenshoted to show the officer
7th- went back in Thailand via Nong Khai bridge with no issues at all as well
In general pretty easy trip as long as you have all the required documents
Hope this helps some people who are worried of going to Vientiane
