I've done student visas in Vientiane before, and it's always been go on the 1st day, drop off your paperwork at the embassy in the morning. On the 2nd day you go in the afternoon and pick up your passport with new visa.

In other words its a 2 day process.

Is it also a 2 day process when getting a work visa?
