yeah I’ve seen so many YouTube videos on this topic and none is clear about the process.

It’s an oxymoron, you have to have 800K in a Thai bank but you don’t qualify to get one. lol, you can show income but the embassy don’t certify it.

I’m a former federal employee, I can print my monthly statement from OPM. I can also get my monthly payment from the VA website and not sure if the will accept that.

I think the issue is that people wants to maintain their US number, it is required for banking and verification purposes. You can use the US number on WhatsApp with WiFi but you can’t call 800 numbers back in the states.

And I guess you could use an eSIM for the international part.

Guys I'm in that same position, retired and considering country hopping around Asia. Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Isn't there another retirement visa that you don't have to put the 800K in the bank. The other one where you have to show a monthly income of $2k?
