Is it safe to travel to Thailand under the visa exemption while waiting for DTV visa approval in Germany?

Hi!!

I am currently in Germany and have applied for the DTV visa. However, I would prefer not to wait for the approval in Germany. My plan is to travel to Thailand in the next few days under the visa exemption scheme. Once the DTV visa is approved, I would then travel to a neighboring country such as Vietnam or Cambodia, and re-enter Thailand a few days later—this time using the DTV visa.

Would this be possible?
