A question about the Non-Immigrant O-A visa. It seems to be too good to be true. At least according to the Thai Consulate in Munich you need to be over 50, show a PENSION income of at least 65,000 baht monthly (currently €1700) OR 800,000 baht in a bank account HERE in Germany. Plus you need medical insurance and a certificate from the police. They say this allows multiple entries and stays of up to one year PER ENTRY.

This seems to be too good to be true. Meaning you’d just have to get this visa once and you could come and go and each time and stay up to a year. Or stay permanently and do a visa bounce once a year. There seems to be no time limit. No lining up at Immigration to get extensions and multiple re-entry permits. Do I understand this correctly?

I’m considering this visa because banks are reported to be cracking down on accounts held by foreigners who don’t have long-stay visas.

Hi… I’m writing on behalf of a friend who’s interested to retire in Thailand. She holds a Singapore passport so able to enter Thailand with exempt visa. She wants to apply for a non O retirement visa… with the current situation with opening account with banks… how is she going to transfer the 800,000 baht if she’s not allowed to open a bank account ? Appreciate it very much to hear your advice. Thank you

Question I have related to the new DTV visa. Does this 5 year window begin upon approval / issuance of the visa while the applicant is still residing in their home country, or does it begin when the applicant first sets foot on thai soil (which then initiates the first 180 visa stay period)? Hoping that anyone with DTV experience can answer this question. Thanks very much.

Hi

Any one had to get a replacement driving licence x 2.

I lost my wallet Saturday.

My two licenses were 6 months old from rayong.

I am getting different answers about what forms are actually needed.

Rayong transport centre closed until Wednesday.

Thank you

Good day

Has anyone applied for a non O based on marriage in Malaysia

I live in Thailand but when out of Thailand working my marriage visa expired.

I will return to Thailand on a visa exempt and then plan to have a 3 week holiday in Malaysia and apply online for non O based on marriage.

Is this possible?

Has anyone done it?

Cheers

I have an American passport and I have used Visa exempt on arrival several times along with a couple of border runs to Laos since October 2023. In March 3 I married a wonderful Thai woman. I'm in America now and had an eye surgery but now I have a flight back to Thailand on June 10. My question is if I have a copy of my marriage documents and explain my situation and that I am immediately going to follow the requirements for a marriage Visa. Do you think that the IO will allow an entry on Visa exempt one more time without much problems. I realize that it's up to the IO that I will be in front of but what is the groups thoughts on my chances

Thanks for your advice in advance

I’m going to apply for my non o spouse visa. I just have one concern re the bit that asks proof of relationship to a family in Thailand. I have a marriage certificate but my husband is currently residing here in U.K. with me . And I was going to send council tax bill as proof of adddress in U.K. which has both our names on. Should I get another utility bill that shows only my name? Or am I overthinking this? Anyone done this recently same senario? TIA
