Me and my girlfriend want to get a DTV visa. I meet the requirements (business owner in UK, 500k+) but she doesn’t.

It is possible for dependents to also get a DTV. How can she become a legal dependent without marriage?

Hey everyone,

After successfully obtaining my DTV visa, I’m flying back to Bangkok tomorrow from Bali airport with AirAsia. However, to my surprise, I was able to check in online and get my boarding pass.

Isn’t it normally required to present the DTV visa to the airline before boarding? Can I really just skip the check-in counter and go straight to security and immigration without the airline registering my DTV visa?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

So I just logged into the dashboard, and it now says "Pending Approval" 🥳

It said "Pending Document Check" previously, so this is a new update!

This is via the Los Angeles consulate. Any idea how long it will take until it is actually approved with DTV pdf in hand?

Update: Approved today! Took 34 days total.

Has anyone had luck opening a bank account on a DTV visa in Chiang Mai? If so, any chance you can share info? Thanks!

Also, any tips on documents to provide for freelancers (so no contract)?

How’s it been going for those choosing a border run to renew the 180 days? Anything I should know? The time is approaching and with it being such a new Visa I’m not finding much helpful info online. I’ve heard rumors of complications like needing to pay, needing to show paperwork, or needing to stay out of the country for several days before re-entry.

Thanks for the help!

Hi everyone! I’m applying for DTV as freelance graphic designer. Do you have any recommendations for professional portfolio submission? I have my portfolio that I use for job applications and I’m wondering whether I can just use that. Or does it need to be reformatted to be A4 size since it’s for visa application?

Also, should I include LinkedIn and Behance pages as screenshots as part of portfolio pdf or separate pdfs?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
