When submitting applications for DTV soft power in HCMC, has the embassy ever requested applicants to provide payslips and bank statements?

Hello everyone, I am new here and I have a question relating to DTV visa.

One of the possibilities to get this Visa is a participation on a soft power activities ,

such as Muay Thai courses, Thai cooking classes, sports training, medical treatment, seminars or music festivals.

My question is:

what is a participation on medical treatment? Does this mean you get the medical treatment or you learn that medical treatment?

I am confused because in all other activities like Muay Thai courses, Thai cooking classes, sports training you will act as a learner.

I am thankful for any clarification.

Thank you

Or does it have to be from a brick-and-mortar traditional bank like Bank of China, Bank of America etc?

I could not get any information by phone because the number I called for Samut Prakan Immigration office was set in automatic menu loop until it eventually hangs up. so I went there today to get it. My 1 year extension expires at end of April and I have to back to the US at end of March to take care of a few things. I knew that most offered the extension at 30 days before expiration. And few at 45 days before. FYI , Samut Prakan immigration allows extensions 45 days before expiration. Just wanted that info out there for anyone to use it.

Hi. I am interested in applying for the DTV as a professional remote worker currently in Thailand. I have an LLC in Florida, USA with a business bank account where I deposit my business revenue.

I operate a boutique consulting and portfolio management firm. Can I show the business bank account for proof of 15,000 USD cash instead of a personal bank account?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi it is really important. My flight back is on Sunday to Bangkok but my dtv is not approved yet. Shall I just enter on visa exemption and leave again In the couple weeks or extend my stay in Indonesia? Cheaper would be flying back to my apartment like planned.

Applying for DTV as employee vs contractor.

I've been offered a contract, but technically I'm being hired as a contractor. I've got supporting documents, such as a letter stating I have permission to work remotely from Thailand.

However, I've attached an excerpt from the contract. I'm pretty sure any embassy is going to make the interpretation that I am a freelancer, and will want to see business registration, invoices, portfolio, etc. I have none of those things.

I'm planning to apply at HCMC, but at this point I'm considering whether there would even be a point to applying, as the contract presents me more as a freelancer and I can't provide those supporting documents.

It seems like the only way to qualify would be a more straightforward employment contract, but the employer says that would not be possible since they don't have a branch in Thailand.

Apologies for the somewhat vague question. I'd be thankful for any advice.

I ask for my friend, he's not on FB, so I hope it's ok I ask for him.

He has a non o retired 1 year visa he got from a visa agent, but now he got money, and want to do his visa by himself.

He has bank account, and already sent over 800k to the account, he own his condo, he also has retired money over 65k month. He's 69y old.

He got his visa in Pattaya agency, but he lives in Samut Prakan.

So what's the easiest, and the correct way to get him in that situation he can do his extensions by himself, and just pay 1900B + single/multiple entry/ies?

I just got approved in Cambodia - besides the wait time the whole process has been a total breeze.

I’m from the UK & applied for the workcation (I’ve been freelancing for 5 years).

I submitted my application on the 14th Feb. It changed from pending document check to pending approval on the 17th Feb (after the weekend). It then got approved today (27th Feb) so 9 working days later.

I wasn’t asked for any additional documents so here’s what I submitted in case it helps anyone.

Proof of location:

- Photo of entry stamp into Cambodia

- Hotel booking for 1 week

Proof of finance:

- Cover letter highlighting my closing balance and what that is approximately in Thai baht.

- 6 months of bank statement with a closing balance of over 500k. The previous months did not have that amount.

- 6 months of invoices from my main client + 3 from additional clients.

Proof of work:

- Cover letter explaining what I do for work as a freelancer and why I want to live in Thailand then I highlighted which documents I had included.

- Screenshot of my HMRC account with Unique Taxpayer Number as proof of me being a freelancer.

- Cover letter from my main client stating they have worked with me for 2 years and happy with the work I produce remotely.

- Full contract with my main client, signed 2 years ago.

- Screenshot of about 6 pages of my portfolio.

- Screenshot of 3 pages of my website.

Done & dusted. They asked for nothing else.

If you want a quick turnaround then avoid Cambodia! But if you’re happy to go somewhere new and chill, then Siem Reap really is a beautiful little place and I highly recommend to stay at Vihara City of Temples hotel, it’s $30 per night.
