Has anyone recently applied for a non immigrant b visa for teaching in Vientiane? My school has never been through the process before so we're figuring it out together and it's hard to find clear information online. The system changed earlier this year which is why I'd like to hear from people who've done it recently please. 🙏

I believe I need to make an appointment online and then arrive 24 hours before my appointment so that I can upload my Laos arrival card along with all the other paper work (which i already have prepared) Can anyone confirm that arriving 24 hours before my appointment is necessary?

And does it really take 5- 15 days? How long did you have to wait?

I imagined moving things online would make the process more efficient and it used to only take 2-3 days, so the mention of 5-15 days surprised me!

Any insight, tips and recent experiences would be very much appreiated, thanks! 🙏

I just got my retirement extension at CW imm. I stayed in a hotel for 2 nights and they sent in the TM30 on me. So I’m at immigration and they asked if I stayed at the hotel. It turned out to be that that was the last entry. I said that I believed TM30 was for retuning from outside the country. They told me that it had changed and I have to report every single time. I believe this has something to do with some change in the system in September of this your. I believe that change erased my 11 year history staying at the exact same address, just from the way they talked. Not sure on that.

here or there?

I'm 74 and i'm finally planning on retiring soon to Thailand from US.. I have been many times over the last 10 years, so hopefully, I kind of know what I'm getting myself into:) to anyone who's already gone through the visa process.. I'm wondering, did you find it necessary to work with a visa service or did you figure it out on your own, if you used a Visa service that you've liked, recommendations would be welcome .

also, is it better to start the process while I'm still here in the US or should I wait until I'm in Thailand on a tourist visa? Much appreciate input! 🙏

Hi all. I have applied at the Royal Thai Embassy evisa website for a 90 day non O evisa based on marriage. I'm from the UK. Documents have been checked and it's now pending approval.

I would like to bring my flight forward to the 12th this month. I think I told them my flight would have been the 26th.

It's been pending approval for 13 days and normally I would not be concerned yet, but I may not get the visa approved by the 12th.

Can someone direct me to their Facebook page so I can get in touch and let them know of my plans.

Thanks in advance.

Stuart.

Dear members,

This question has undoubtedly come up before, but I want to make sure I'm doing it right.

I'm retiring in June next year and want to move to Thailand afterward. I plan to live there for at least nine months a year. My girlfriend is Thai, and we already own a house together, but we're not married.

I'd like to apply for a retirement visa without depositing money in a Thai bank account. I meet the income requirement of 65,000 baht per month with my state pension (AOW) and pension.

My questions are:

When is the best time to apply for the visa?

Should I wait until I officially have my state pension (AOW) and pension documents before applying?

Is it wise to arrange the visa myself, or is it better to have it done through a visa service?

All tips and experiences are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Hi all! I'm looking to apply for my DTV visa from Vietnam. I have a couple of questions about the process, given personal circumstances:

1. I have the 500,000 baht in an investment portfolio under my name that can be withdrawn into my personal account at anytime (I have documents proving this). Is this still applicable if I use this given that it's not a personal bank account?

2. Is it easier to apply from the UK or Vietnam?

3. I have been living in Thailand for the previous 6 months and overstayed before extending one time. I paid the fine and had no more issues; however, i've heard it may present some issues.

Hi,

I spent 4 months in Thailand this year on a visa exeption (January to April)

And I’m planning to go back again. Is it possible for me to travel there again a third time this year in December, or do I have to wait until next year, since I’ve already enterd 2 time this year?

TM30. You have to do it if you will need any services from Thai Immigration or you are entering a renting agreement, then the landlord have to file TM30 for you, you do nothing.

Say, your cousin or friend come to visit you in Thailand, in a condo/house you already rent or own, no action, no TM30 for them.

I was just told by a long term Thai resident (an American), after an uporoar from the tourism industry, Thais scrapped the hotel obligations to fill in your TM30, 2 years ago.

Indeed, 40 million tourists a year, many stay in hotels for a night or two, change and travel further, what Thai workforce is needed to punch in all those TM30s.

Really considering moving here with my Filipina wife and son. Schools seem to be the only obstacle (and maybe the acceptance of Tricare for health insurance)

Has anybody here put their children into an ABS school? If so, what are the pros and cons (and cost)? Also, any info on Tricare would be extremely helpful as well.

Thanks in advance! PS, looking at the Chiang Mai area
