Hi everyone,

-I’m planning to apply for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand.

I have a bank account, but I don’t have a large deposit in it because I usually use e-wallets / digital wallets for my payments.

However, I do have:

* Pay slips for the last 6 months

* A formal work contract showing my monthly income

* I work remotely as a digital nomad

My question is: Will this be sufficient to prove financial stability for the DTV, or is a large bank deposit mandatory?

Any advice or experiences from people who applied for DTV without a big bank balance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

DTV bank statement question...

I hear mixed opinions. How many months are required to have the 500k baht minimum balance. I have heard 3-6. I have also heard minimum of the 1 month of last atatement.

What is your experience and understanding?

I am in Thailand on a 60 day visa exemption, but I'd like to extend it to 90 days.

I'd rather do things early than late, so I was planning to go within the week. However, ChatGPT (which is not always reliable) says to wait a bit as Bangkok immigration is very strict.

Is this true? Should I wait till January to extend, or just do it now? I thought it would be best to ask real people.

Also, it has to be done in person, right? I haven't found an online option.

Just thought I’d make people aware of my journeys to SEA over the last year do that it may alleviate some worries people have about immigration and entering Thailand.

I came to Thailand mid November 2024. I spent 60 days here.

I then visited Laos for one week before flying back to Thailand.

I spent 60 days here then got a 30 day extension.

In April 2025 I returned to the UK.

TOTAL: 5 months.

In November 2025 I returned to Thailand.

After 2 weeks, I visited Vietnam and Cambodia for 3 weeks before returning to Thailand yesterday.

My visa exempt has another 60 days stamp.

I always felt like immigration would be ok with my travelling but hopefully my travelling history can help someone if they have concerns.

Goodafternoon.

I am in Thailand, visiting my girlfriend, on visa exempt (Oktober 1 - December 26). November 19 I did not receive a 30 day extention (due to my 3 entries in 2024 (1 tourist visa and 2 visa exempt). The IO said: "as far as I'm concerned you are not a tourist anymore). He suggested a border run.

I did a border run to Vietnam (November 21 - 24) and obtained a new visa exempt (until January 22). And got 60 days (amazing Thailand).

Do I understand well: the visa exempt history is cleared per January 1 2026? And does that mean I can get a new visa exempt? Or maybe better to get a payed visa?

I would like to stay until March 21.

Hello, I need your advice, I would like to inquire about the visa requirements for my upcoming trip to Thailand. I have a European citizen.

I previously stayed in Thailand from January 2025 to May 2025, and again from July 2025 to October 2025. I am now planning to return to Thailand in January to visit with my Thai wife.

Could you kindly advise whether I am eligible to travel to Thailand at any time under visa exemption, or if I am required to apply for a visa in advance since i stayed more than 230 days this year. Thank you for your time.
