From the moment your DTV is approved how soon do you have to enter Thailand?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I've been hearing different things from different people...

I have the DTV. I am about to exit for the first time, spend two weeks in another country, and then come back in.

I don't think I need to pay for a multiple-entry permit, correct? Because the DTV already is a multiple-entry visa... Am I mistaken?

The stamp in my passport does not say multiple entry, but just says "DTV" on the stamp.

When I exit the country, will they give me an exit stamp and give me a new entry one?

And do I need to bring anything with me besides my passport?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks!

Just went to the Thai Tax Revenue office about how to pay taxes as a 180 day Thai Tax Resident and I got a Deer in the Headlights look. Literally no one knows the answers to this 😂

DTV Approved ✅

My wife and I applied from Bali at the Jakarta Embassy.

Thanks to all the information found in this group, it all went smoothly.

My wife (British) applied as the main applicant as a remote worker (our business is under her name).

We provided:

* Location: boarding pass, card on arrival, grab receipt from the airport to our Airbnb, Airbnb reservation.

* Finances: 3 months of bank statements (from a Wise account).

* Work: documents about the LLC + 6 months of contracts and invoices showing regular work with multiple clients outside of Thailand.

Applied on October 15th, approved on the 24th.

I (French) then applied as a dependent/spouse.

We provided:

* Location: same, with a newer Gojek receipt from the day I applied.

* Marriage certificate + translation.

* Finances: same bank statements + a letter from my wife stating that the money is for the both of us.

Applied on the 24th, approved on November 4th.

I used ChatGPT to write some things for each section.

Thank you for everyone here for the precious information which made our applications smooth and easy!

I have a temporary Thai driving license (valid 2 years)

is it true that it is valid only in Thailand and not in all the other SEA countries like the 5 years license?

I am currently on a Non-Immigrant O spousal with multi re-entry permit all expiring in April '26. I plan to switch to a DTV in December during a trip to the UK.

Do I need to actively cancel my Non-Imm O or does it simply get cancelled when I come back in on my DTV?

If I do need to cancel it how do I go about that?

My passport expires in 2027. Should I renew my passport (10 years validity) then apply for DTV? How much hassle is it to have DTV attached to an old passport? Just have to bring 2 passports every time you enter Thailand?
