Hi,

I’ve I picked up my yearly extension (married to a Thai) at Chiang mai immigration office on the 5th of April. That same day was the due date to do my 90days report but didn’t have time to do it at the immigration as I had to catch a fly to Samui that same morning. I use to do my 90 days report online until now but seems like it’s not working this time after I’ve tried several times.

I am flying back then to Bangkok before heading back to my home country for a while.

Can I do my 90days report it in person at the immigration office in Samui or is it supposed to be done only from the office of residency ?

If it’s not possible, I will have to pay a fine of course. But will that be a problem for me to ask for my re-entry permit at the Suvarnabhumi airport on the day of my departure ?

Thank you in advance for your feedback and advice 🙏🏻

Hi all,

Anyone knows, is it enough to have TM30 only at the moment of tourist visa extension (60+30)? Or are they checking if you had TM30 since the day of arrival to Thailand? For example, one could live in different places, and who knows if hosts have registered you with TM30 or not.

Question about Phangan/Samui immigration office if it matters.

My recent experience at Samui office, annual extension of non-O visa, converting from Married to Retirement. May be useful for others?

Smooth sailing, staff very helpful, in and out in a little over 30 minutes.

A couple of points to note:

1. The gatekeeper (info, forms, preliminary check and issue queue number) are now downstairs.

2. Conversion from Married to Retirement requires kor ror 22 (married overseas) or kor ror 2 (married in Thailand) .. 15 minutes and 20 baht at local Amphur office. Presumably a check that you're not on overstay following a divorce for instance. Luckily I'd pre-empted this even though not on the print out.

3. The big surprise .. takes 7 days before you can collect stamped passport .. my recollection is Retirement extension stamp used to be same day .. not sure if this now standard for Retirement extension or if it is specific to the Married to Retirement conversion.

Hi, in Samui can I just go to immigration asap to extend for 30 days after arriving for it to be added on? Also, is it only the once you can do this and if you wanted to stay any longer you'd have to leave the country then come back? Going travelling with my son so doing this won't be an issue but just thought I would check 😊

Hi all. big shoutout to everyone here for all their advice preparing my application for conversion from tourist visa to non-immigrant O (retirement) - in particular a HUGE thank you James Miller and Tod Daniels for all the time you took to answer my naive questions. After two visits to the Samui office (they asked me to come back with a medical certificate?!) and visit to my home yesterday by immigration officials to confirm my residence, I think I am home free. Been told to return in two weeks to pick up my visa. I know many people have had varying experiences with the Samui office when applying without an agent, but everyone i dealt with was helpful and friendly - including the immigration officials visiting my home.

On a scale of 1 to 10. How is the Samui immigration office? Are the difficult? Long lines? Full service?

I have been living in Pattaya for the past few years and found it best to use an agent than go directly through the immigration office.

Hello!

I would like to apply for 1 year extension of my Thai Wife stamp.

I did my first application last year in Bangkok but now I'm temporarily in Samui.

Can I apply for the extension in Samui or do I need to go back to Bangkok?

Thank you for your help

Hi,

I recently arrived in Thailand on the 30-day visa exempt. I’d like to extend for 30 days but also planning to travel around a bit in the next few weeks, locations a bit tbc, but also hoping to do a liveabord for a week. My question is, can apply for the extension now in Bangkok by going to CW, or do I need to wait until close to the expiry in mid December and apply at my nearest immigration office (likely Phuket or Samui)?

Many thanks in advance!
