My passport expires in 2027. Should I renew my passport (10 years validity) then apply for DTV? How much hassle is it to have DTV attached to an old passport? Just have to bring 2 passports every time you enter Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When considering applying for the Thai Digital Nomad Visa (DTV), it is advisable to renew your passport if it has more than a year of validity left. Carrying two passports may be necessary if your DTV is attached to an older passport, which could complicate entry into Thailand. Travelers advise renewing before applying for a visa to avoid potential hassles, as issues can arise if the passport does not have sufficient validity.
I've had previous Thai visas transferred over with a stamp at immigration. Don't see why this would be any different.

Question to the people saying "renew now": does your country allow you to renew when there's more than 1 year of validity left? Mine doesn't, unless all pages are already full.

Renew BEFORE applying! I have been stuck in Vietnam for almost 2 months because they wanted me to have more time on my passport and it's been ridiculous working with the embassy here.
