Speak to the company you choose in NZ and they will likely already have a broker they work with locally here to make things seamless. If they are personal effects ensure that this is clearly marked and communicated to the local broker to avoid unnecessary duty. Alternatively you can deal with a broker here directly but won't make much difference to the above.

I've got a pay as you go EE sim, I go home every 6 months min and it still active and works once topped up
