ouch that some of these comments are unnecessarily harsh. Yes you can ask Google but sometimes the wording can be confusing and I feel like a lot of things with immigration and governments can be confusing and wanting Clarity is not stupid even if it seems simple there are so many things that I've encountered that is a simple answer however somehow becomes complicated when dealing with especially Thai immigration. So putting it in a group that's all about getting advice on your Visa I don't think it's unreasonable. If you feel like your time is being wasted maybe stop just reading through the comments of a post that has aggravated you then proceeding to take more of your time to call a persons questions stupid. Honestly the only thing that seems stupid to me here is people wasting their time reading things that are frustrating them taking time to reply to those comments and in that complaining about their time being wasted 🤔
However sometimes people really find joy in the commenting in chaos so if that's your fun you do you
Just want to remind the original poster not a stupid question it's always smart to clarify because things can be unnecessarily confusing even when you have read all the stuff and it seems that you should obviously be this answer sometimes it's not that answer so clarifying is never a bad idea. It is far worse to think you know the answer confidently without clarifying getting into the situation and then being shot in the foot with it.
Hopefully all that makes sense I do talk to text because I'm legally blind and I'm not going through the extra time of reading through to make sure all of it is correct so thank you for your patience and deciphering of the talk to text
I'm not going to disagree and say that prices have not gone up consistently and significantly since covid however I've been in Thailand for well before covid and rent was more expensive pre-covid then during covid prices were very cheap because there was nobody here and then post covid prices went back up they've gone up past the original price however so has Global inflation and prices of things in general also it has been five six years since pre-covid so the prices should have increased by now anyway. Do I think there's probably going to be some gentrification as foreign money comes in and this will potentially end inevitably affect locals yes I do leave as prices go up so will salaries though therefore improving the economy, the infrastructure, standard of living of Thai people. We can all just hope for the best and do our best to help encourage it to go that way. Therefore eating at places that treat their employees fairly supporting businesses that support their staff. But yeah comparing prices to covid times to not cover times is not reasonable and if your first time here was during covid I could see why maybe you would be confused by increase in prices. A lot of restaurants try to do the right thing and make food even more affordable for people during covid because it was such a hard time so prices dropped at that time and went back up to normal and then continue to grow as inflation grew.
no it's probably a us thing they want to make sure that you're paying your US taxes cuz if you spend more than 3 weeks in the US in a year you're supposed to pay taxes there so it's probably kind of the Uncle Sam bullying you until you can't get the visa unless you pay him. Because I haven't heard of anyone else needing tax returns anywhere else in the world. But the US is kind of known for that
how did it go with getting your visa? What exactly did you need for this consult. I will be in Taiwan in Nov so thinking I will get mine then but not sure what I need as it seems everywhere has their own requirements and I don;t know anyone that has gotten it there
