TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, a single day trip to a neighboring country would still be considered a re-entry into Thailand. As long as you exit Thailand and then return, it qualifies as re-entry, regardless of the duration of your absence.

The only reason you are asking this is because for some strange reason, America doesn't consider short trips to Mexico and Canada as having properly exited the country for the purposes of re-entry to the USA later. Thus, if you have a 90 or 180 day visa free stay permit, it won't be reset after a trip to Mexico or Canada, as strange as that sounds.

For almost every other country in the world, once you exit that country and come back in, the clock is reset.

Of course in the case of the Schengen region, you have to exit the zone in order to reset the clock...though there's a 90 day within 180 day limit for non-Schengen nationals on tourist and short term visas.

Yes of course.

If you leave the country and enter the country again it is a "re-entry".

yes, no problem 💪

*sigh* what part of exiting a country with a passport and returning is hard to grasp? Whether it's for 5 seconds, 5 hours, or 5 days.

Seriously come in man think about the question ?? Use Google before asking here wasting time. I know it's an advice group but seriously lazy this is a basic question a 5 year old understands

a simple yes or no would suffice. Please save Your lack of patience for others or you can simply ignore or leave the group since you know it all without a desire to hear from others who don't know. Thanks, enjoy your day in the land of Smiles ✌🏾

Maybe you should give some context why you ask this.

For visa exempt a re-entry within a day is often not allowed, but it still would be a re-entry if it was allowed.

move on as this is what you can expect from most Thai expat groups. This guy likes to practice his “I’m having a huge sh1t naked in a gym” expression when he’s not trolling

I sat and watched forums from the Thai embassy on a YouTube podcast about this DTV and they still didn't answer this question for me so I asked here. A FB GROUP that was designed to ask questions you don't know. It's cool that you understood it for yourselves however that doesn't mean I understood it the same.

However I appreciated the simple "Yes".

Question answered ✔️, move on 🤣✌🏾

this group is for questions about the DTV. Not questions about basic logic. Do you want us to tell you what 2+2 is as well?

Stop wasting people's time.

ouch that some of these comments are unnecessarily harsh. Yes you can ask Google but sometimes the wording can be confusing and I feel like a lot of things with immigration and governments can be confusing and wanting Clarity is not stupid even if it seems simple there are so many things that I've encountered that is a simple answer however somehow becomes complicated when dealing with especially Thai immigration. So putting it in a group that's all about getting advice on your Visa I don't think it's unreasonable. If you feel like your time is being wasted maybe stop just reading through the comments of a post that has aggravated you then proceeding to take more of your time to call a persons questions stupid. Honestly the only thing that seems stupid to me here is people wasting their time reading things that are frustrating them taking time to reply to those comments and in that complaining about their time being wasted 🤔

However sometimes people really find joy in the commenting in chaos so if that's your fun you do you

Just want to remind the original poster not a stupid question it's always smart to clarify because things can be unnecessarily confusing even when you have read all the stuff and it seems that you should obviously be this answer sometimes it's not that answer so clarifying is never a bad idea. It is far worse to think you know the answer confidently without clarifying getting into the situation and then being shot in the foot with it.

Hopefully all that makes sense I do talk to text because I'm legally blind and I'm not going through the extra time of reading through to make sure all of it is correct so thank you for your patience and deciphering of the talk to text

like l said type in re entry into Google. It's basic if you can read. You think YouTube is the only way or you must watch a video of everything. YouTubers make basic videos for people who know basics they are not explaining every basic details. If you read a story and you don't understand a word do you ask on a advise group or look in a dictionary. Muppet 🤣🤣🤣
