I am very sorry to hear this. I know nothing about this field at all. But what I’d be concerned about in your shoes is that even the best lawyer will not bring you reasonable results by our standards. I am not trying to be pessimistic while at the same time admitting I am completely ignorant. But, for example, car insurance here has trivial coverage even for death. Mind you in some ways America is no different. The only accidents I have been in have been caused by people with trivial insurance or none. My insurance company would go after them after first paying me. Problem is they don’t own a house
So in my case this was simple. I’m not saying this will work for you but I swear by it. I dread returning to any Falang country as I’d go bankrupt. And basically no insurance covers it - anywhere. Go to your local public hospital. Ask for the Thai traditional medicine department. Get a massage once or preferably twice a week. Ideally your massage therapist will have a degree in the subject too. The younger ones all do I find. But some more experienced older ones are excellent too. The price is very reasonable. I had a problem with my hand last year. My massage therapist was cautious and wanted me to see the orthopedist. I said “no way”. I trust you and your colleagues. I don’t want Falang treatments thank you. She fixed it. 100%. By the way no one listens to me. Especially my sisters who are Falang doctors. One has never had a massage. The other had one once and said that it hurt. Clueless sorry to say. Finally don’t go to some massage shop in the street. Expensive. Often untrained. Oh by the way if it’s inflamed they won’t do it. I’ve had this explained by them. I guess I understand but not really. I’ve recommended Thai people to go but they wouldn’t do massage because of this. Again, I know nothing. I just know I’d be crippled without this treatment. The only other places on the planet who have worked for me was a similar guy in Singapore. He had the most enormous hands I’ve ever seen and he was 5’ 0”. He was great. And a chiropractor in Oregon who did adjustments to my back with a jack hammer machine. I was in and out in ten minutes. I used to say he worked miracles. He asked me never to say that as some of his patients were weird religious types! 555. Good luck. Message me if you like. I don’t really like posting. I don’t want strange Falang messing up my contacts. 😆 oh and treat them well please. Really well. Don’t be cheap. Decent American and British chocolates and cookies don’t cost much.
A boss of mine years ago always said “only read the last sentence. That’s where the real message is”. In this case “pay at least 2 million baht”. 5555555555
sorry I don’t understand. He’s Asian but you clearly state he is white. I don’t get it and don’t have time to investigate. The moment has passed anyway. He’d be insane to come here.
This would be extremely difficult. That’s British English for impossible. You don’t say where your home is. That’s very relevant actually. $1000 less an airline ticket, and one to go home (for immigration) means you will literally arrive with zero from the USA for example. It’s also very relevant as like everywhere in the world people are very prejudiced. That’s especially so if you have no money. You need to say what your nationality is and where you live now. That may not feel comfortable but no one seems to have asked both those questions and I’m telling you the truth. Nothing in life is impossible. Know that. But I think you are setting yourself up for disaster. Have you ever seen how poor Burmese people live in Thailand? The good news is that they help each other. You need more money before you arrive here mate. You don’t want to arrive here and live under a bridge. Your life could be in real danger. I think you need to rethink this. You need someone one who is willing to be a coach and an advocate. And they better be someone with their head screwed on and that you trust. I used to mentor kids. The worst thing in the world is not to be honest to someone in your position. Most people here are being honest actually. You need to listen to them or you could be moving from major problems to real disaster. I wish I could be more positive. But it’s impossible to advise when you don’t say where you are and what nationality you are and whether you have legal status there currently. Sorry.
Nothing in life is impossible but I agree with you that the advice was completely irresponsible. I notice that not one person so far has offered to sponsor in any way. They have all basically passed on the other side of the road. It’s kind of interesting but doesn’t surprise me.
$2000 trivial. A friend of mine lost $100k like this. I could make comments except that people in glass houses shouldn’t throw rocks. Could have been me. And it has been me. 1000b here. 1000b there. It’s annoying. 70k b is more than annoying. $100k is horrible. Just never do in the future. We all learn. I’m so sorry. It doesn’t matter how much. We all feel like idiots. They stiff each other by the way. We are out of culture not idiots.
No there aren’t a lot of options. Try Delta / Korean. Leave nothing to chance. Triple check everything. Do not use foreign airlines unless you don’t want your culture to negotiate with or something goes wrong. Book your pet asap. They have a limit of dogs per flight. It’s easy IF you do it right. Call or text me on messenger ever if you want my experience.
