It is allowed but the software is pretty unstable and the instructions are not great. It has never worked for me.

 They did a few covid extensions but they are not going to let you switch visas.

 There is no rollover or extension available for the STV. You must leave after 9 months.

 He should come in on a wavier so there is enough time to quarantine and then go for the extension. One would hope they have a little flexibility to allow for quarantine.

 That is not going to work. Certain visas have certain extension qualifications. They need to match.

You need to convert your visa from a B work visa to an O marriage visa. You cannot extend a B visa by reason of marriage.

 Good point, so can a parent get a long term visa by sending a foreign kid to school in Thailand? Maybe but it seems unlikely.
