How can I obtain a letter from the US embassy to get a 30-day extension for my tourist visa in Thailand?

I am interested to see if immigration accepts this and offers another 30 day extension. It does not say you can’t travel. Immigration may take issue with that.

Basically they say hey, if you want to give another 30 days we don’t have a problem with it.

indeed after calling 1178 to confirm this thought several days ago I was told to get the extension as usual as come July 31 I will have no extension to stay. Important for me as I want to apply for permanent residency this year.
