Need Advice...

At Ban Pakard Immigration now. (Chanthaburi province)

My wife who holds a US passport and has been teaching in Cambodia for tge past 3 months is not going to be allowed in without a health certificate and Health insurance.

I am in Thailand since last saturday on a 60 day stamp recieved here at this crossing using my METV.

Looking to send her back to the nearest hospital for a cert....

Can I ask where to get insurance? Any link to companies that have been accepted, and info on how much is required. (I know this is only tangentialy a visa question, but I need help.)

Thank You!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the challenges a US passport holder faced while trying to enter Thailand from Cambodia, specifically the need for a health certificate and health insurance as required by Thai immigration. The user's wife, who had been teaching in Cambodia, was denied entry without these documents. The thread provides advice on where to obtain insurance and health certificates, mentions the potential use of alternative border crossings, and concludes with the successful resolution of the situation.

the IATA list from today, 9:15 am, does not mention any requirements for US citizens who have been to Cambodia, to present anything upon entering Thailand

,

Well either Chanthaburi is being stricter than need be, or it changed by the time 1:30 rolled around.

and keep in mind, Kevin is not allowed entry to Cambodia any more, to accompany her, as he holds a US passport

Chong Chom is a friendly border point, but known they keep asking people for the proof of accomodation for the first few days in Thailand and 20,000 THB or equivalent in cash, and an onward ticket. At least three of my aquaintances happened to be asked at the Chong Chom border when doing a 30 day visa exempt entry. For
@Kevin *******
's wife this border could be a solution, worth a try. But it is a long way from Ban

Pakkard to there

So you're trying to border bounce for a 30 day visa exempt? Why didn't they ask you for insurance or a medical certificate, and only your wife?

>Can I ask where to get insurance?

I'd go to the nearest hospital. I imagine there's a Bangkok Hospital close by, or another international hospital.

>Can I ask where to get insurance?

What's your wife's nationality? What visa is she on? What visa are you using?
