Dear David,

LTR Visa holders staying in Thailand for a period longer than 1 year consecutively are required to report the current address to the Immigration at One Stop Service Center for Visa and Work Permit (OSS) either in pery authorizing someone to report for you on your behalf. This report must be done on a yearly basis counting from LTR Visa issuance date (15 days before or 7 days after the date specified on 1-year report notification card). However, in the case of re-entering the Kingdom, the report will be due in 1 year from the date of the latest arrival.

The documents required to be submitted to the immigration are as follows.

The comment.I replied to was "fact prices for land have steadily go up over the last two plus decades in Hua Hin and most places in Thailand".

As to your comment agree houses everywhere tend to depreciate in value while land goes up in value.

Since I married a Thai in 1974 and retired here in 2001 my outlook is most likely different then yours on this subject.

it was 55 when I retired but my guess the age will not change.

maybe in some cases however at my age not likely I will use all of my 10 year LTR and I only invested 50,000 Baht. Each of us must do our research and then pick what we think best fits our situation.

not changing names is a good thing . . My wife took my name in 74 as we knew when my assigment was up we were going to be reassigned State Side.

She passed and I have remained and I suggested my bride keep her Family Name and she know understand why.

as I posted above the Law Changed, to allow Thai Women marrued to foringers to buy land in March 1999. Hua Hin Land Officr forbade my wife owing land in her name around that time and while I don't remember the exact date she bought after the 97 crash.

If you say your wife was allowed to buy before 1999 in her Foriegn Married name wonderful but as posted above the law did not allow it until 1999. Have a great day.
