I’m applying to the LA consulate this week and am adding my rental lease agreement, my plane ticket back to Thailand and tax return statements from 2023. They don’t list these as requirements but I know a few people who were asked for flight details + rental lease agreement (or just accommodation in general)

I emailed the LA consulate and asked specifically about tax returns and they told me it’s a requirement now and needs to be included in my application.

I’m providing one month PDF bank account statement and balance verification letter from my bank.

UPDATE: They ended up responding and said I just need to provide a document to show proof of relationship (birth certificate or marriage certificate) but this isn’t what I’ve heard from actual applicants. Not sure if it’s worth it to just try anyways 🤞🏼

hmm good point, ok so probably better off to just use my own account rather than this joint account I’ll look into it more. thanks!

Has anyone showed a bank statement from shared account? My mother and I are on the same account and this is the account I will be using for proof of funds. Do I need to be the main account holder on this account or if I’m secondary, it’s ok? The USA LA consulate just asks for proof of relationship (birth certificate) but curious what others have experienced with this route. Thanks!
