How long does the DTV visa application process take in the USA?

Anyone apply for DTV in USA? If so, how long did it take?

Applied Dec 12, and application only shows pending approval dated Dec 13, nothing since then.

Not sure I should email embassy or continue to wait.

Thanks.

Yes, I went through the Chicago Thai embassy in September and it only took a week for my husband to get his approval and then I applied as a dependent under his and was approved the following week (applied Sept 7 and was approved Sept 13).

Anonymous participant somewhere in the ballpark of 21 business days excluding the holidays, what is their published processing times? I'd definitely contact them and inquire. BTW your patience is admirable.

You should call the embassy. Maybe the embassy will issue the visa closer to the date you specified as your date of arrival in Thailand.

Anonymous participant - The NY consulate states it takes on average 15 days to process a visa. It has now been 25 business days. When did you tell them you were departing for Thailand?

Anonymous participant - Are you American or a legal resident of the United States? Are you physically located in NY's jurisdiction? Normally, posters on here are jumping the gun on wanting to contact the embassy, not waiting enough time (as stipulated by the consulate). However, I believe you have waited more than long enough, so it is reasonable to contact them.

I’m American citizen. Applied while I was home in USA and NYC was closest embassy to where I was situated. I’ll try emailing and calling. I feel like it’s been long enough even with holidays.

Anonymous participant - and you are still in that jurisdiction?
