If you are in UK it’s called an ACRO certificate. You apply on line and it comes through the post a few weeks later. It’s pretty simple to do.

I have recently been in that situation so know the position.

You need to immediately do a police report. You need to register on line with the Uk embassy to get an emergency travel document. I think someone has put the link on this feed. It took 24 hours to get my daughters and 48 hours to get mine issued.

Without this you will definitely not be allowed to fly. The airline will not let you check in. You may have to get a new flight.

If you have a thai visa in your stolen passport and you are returning to Thailand. Bring your original paperwork etc if you have it along with the police report and it can be moved to your new passport when you return to thailand.

In years gone by you needed proof that the money had come into Thailand from overseas and got receipts from the bank. You could then send the money back overseas.

Nowadays, All you need is the paperwork from the land office and your lawyer can simply send the funds to your bank overseas. I did this last week.

You will almost certainly be registered at the same UK GP practice as when you left UK. You may just find it a bit harder to actually get an appointment.
