After considerable fun and games with private, public, insured and not hospital/health system in Thailand this older guy with pre existing and ongoing health issues simply cannot live with the system (the quality of care is often quite good, but the financial not so much) so I (born Australian) returned home (to Australia) where it is an order of magnitude better. (Eg the govt Medicare just provided anti cancer drugs for me labelled $10k for $20.)
your opinion of the Oz health system is barely relevant and highly biased. Do you have a shred of evidence to support recommending Thai health insurance over Australian ? Well then spit it out .. go on .. or just STFU. ππ»
Are you required to have local health insurance? If so, you will be given a list you must choose from, pick a low price and take the maximum deductible to minimise the cost. If not, you may be better off with travel insurance and flying home (gotta pain? Take a plane ..) You can be sure there are no policies in Thailand that will look after you near as well as the Australian option.
