different bank managers although from the same bank company have different understanding and approach pertaining to that matter.

Obviously they either don't know or do not follow the same regulations as provided by their HQ or Central Bank.

Malaysia don't use stamps either actually but bcos certain countries like Thailand require stamp of exit from place of departure, the Malaysian Immigration have no choice but to stamp. Otherwise it's all just scanning of passport for entry and exit in Malaysia.

true, they always jump around pages when stamping. Sometimes they would skip one or two pages too! 🤦

My passport is valid for 5 years but I usually run out of pages within 1 - 1.5 years before having to do a new passport bcos it's full of Thai immigration stamps! 😜😅

Lots of comments here recommending the use of an agent. It looks like the use of an agent will guarantee approval of a secured bank account but I believe the process that the agent use will still be the same as the person who intends to open a bank account would do.

So that seems to imply the agent may have some 'pre-agreements' with the bank officers and the branch Manager.. 😎
