Tod Daniels I didn't say it'll add any days. If they want a multiple entry (re-entry permit), then that's the only way it can be done if SG consulate doesn't issue them anymore.

Some consulates do not issue multiple entry non b or non o visas anymore. Your "friend" will need to go to immigration in Thailand and buy either a single entry or multiple entry from them.
