my understanding is the OA and OX visas are issued in your home country Immi office and they need the insurance. Non O based on retiremement issued within Thailand has no insurance requirement

i hadnt either until a mate booked a Qantas flight from Australia. He rang me panicking. I gave him my onward flight sut he booked for Aussie $16. 10 minutes later he checked in with the email. He was on a bus from Chiang mai to Laos.
