ok see I don't really no specific immis as use here in Bangkok and Buriram. I've seen lots before that individual immi offices impose there own rules.

my understanding is the OA and OX visas are issued in your home country Immi office and they need the insurance. Non O based on retiremement issued within Thailand has no insurance requirement

i hadnt either until a mate booked a Qantas flight from Australia. He rang me panicking. I gave him my onward flight sut he booked for Aussie $16. 10 minutes later he checked in with the email. He was on a bus from Chiang mai to Laos.
